The Bike, Gear and Equipment

The Bike

Choosing the bike for your adventures is a big deal. There are so many factors to weigh in on: weight, range, comfort, cost, easy of maintenance, etc. While I was looking for another bike I stumbled upon my perfect bike, the BMW F800 GS.

Here are the list of Upgrades/Mods:
  • Cruise Control
  • SW Center Stand
  • Jesse Odyssey II Side Cases
  • Highway Pegs

The Gear

Though I subscribe to the All The Gear, All The Time rule, I haven't spent much research time or money on my gear. Here is what my attire is when I leave the house:

  • Icon Variant Helmet
  • Tourmaster Flex 2 Jacket
  • Alpinestars S-MX 2 Boots
  • Alpinestars SMX-4 Gloves
  • Cheap Sunglasses (constantly replaced when lost)

The Equipment

While it would be nice (and cheaper) if you could just get the bike and start your adventure, that isn't how it works out. After clearing the hurdle of transportation, a whole slew of questions arise and all sorts of options to answer opens up. There is a delicate balance between not taking your whole house and taking enough of what you need. Here is my list that is mixed and matched depending on trip distance/time:

  • GoPro HD for video recording
  • Canon PowerShot SD1400IS for Pictures
  • Eureka! Scenic Pass 2 Tent
  • Kriega US-40 Tail Bag System
